Agnes Leeseberg

Agnes Noreen Theidich Leeseberg, age 84, passed away on April 1st surrounded by her children at the Knute Nelson Memorial Home in Alexandria. Agnes was born on July 30, 1921 in Alexandria the daughter of Mabel (Sangren) and Carl Theidich. The family moved to Henning where Agnes grew up, met and married Lawrence Wendell Leeseberg in 1938. Agnes and Lawrence lived and farmed around Henning until they moved their family to Wadena in 1955. Aside from being a wonderful wife and mother, for over 35 years Agnes worked outside her home until she retired from Wadena County Social Services in 1987. Agnes and Lawrence were members of Trinity Lutheran Church in Henning and Immanuel Lutheran Church in Wadena where she was a member of the Church Circle and the Ladies Aid. Agnes' favorite activities include gathering with the Country Gals, gardening, sewing baby quilts, reading and travel. When Lawrence was moved to a nursing home in Alexandria, Agnes moved to an apartment close by. Agnes enjoyed her apartment and time with fellow retiree's, where many activities kept her busy until declining health necessitated her transfer to Knute Nelson Nursing Home. Agnes was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Walter Theidich. She is survived by her husband of 67 years Lawrence of Alexandria; children Duane (Marian) Leeseberg of Mora, Ann (Rick) Standel of St. Louis, MO, Judy (Bob) Hegg of Alexandria, Terri (Yousry) Abdelrahman of Fridley, Penny (Bob) Skrentny of Fort Meyers, FL and Curt (Kari) Leeseberg of Wadena; 19 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild and a countless number of other children who grew to love and call her Gramma. She is also survived by her brother David Hall of St. Louis Park, MN. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 5th at 2:00 PM in the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Wadena with Rev. Jon Larson and Rev. Dan DeBlock officiating. Burial will take place in the Inman Cemetery in Inman Township. Honorary pallbearers will be David Hall, Robert Hegg, Greg Wahlstrand & Robert Skrentny. Active pallbearers will be Richard Snyder, Jesse Snyder, Blake Thoennes, Kareem Abdelrahman, Glenn Leeseberg & Vernell Roberts.
