Agnete Wright

The memorial service for Agnete Wright of Wadena will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 25, at the Wadena Alliance Church with Pastors Vaughn White and Daryl Jacobson officiating. Friends may call at the church on Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service. With family at her side, Agnete passed away on Friday, March 20, 2015, at the Lakewood Health System Hospital in Staples, MN. She was 88 years old. Agnete was born to Alfred and Dagmar (Hanson) Elless on November 11, 1926, in Byron Township, MN. She grew up in Leader, attended country school, and moved to Staples where she graduated from high school. She continued her education and received an Associate Degree from Bethel College in Minneapolis, where she also worked at Honeywell. In 1949, Agnete moved back to the Wadena area and was employed at Northern Co-op. She met Harvey Wright in 1950, and they were married on July 5, 1952. When their four children were born, Agnete stayed home to raise their family. After the children left home, Agnete decided to take a position at the Wadena County Courthouse where she worked until retirement. Agnete’s interests included gardening, crocheting, fishing, volunteering as a Pink Lady at Tri-County Health Care, being an Amway distributor, a Leaf River Township Clerk and Wadena County voter registrar. She was a homemaker who loved baking and was an avid housekeeper! Winter months found Harvey and Agnete enjoying the Arizona climate. Agnete was preceded in death by her parents Alfred and Dagmar; brother-in-law Lawrence Wright; and sisters-in-law Marie Wright and Pearl Tonnar. She is survived by her husband of nearly 63 years, Harvey; sons Douglas (Debra) Wright of Wadena, Danny (JoAnne) Wright of Iverness, FL, Dennis (Joan) Wright of Verndale and Dean Wright of Wadena; six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren & three step-great-grandchildren; along with sister Elvina (Bob) Pederson, and many nieces and nephews. Honorary pallbearers will be her grandchildren Jason Wright, Todd Wright, Scott Wright, Kylee Wright, Christina Wright and Jessica Wright. Inurnment will be in Woodside Cemetery near Wrightstown, MN.
