Bob McIntire

Robert Milton McIntire, age 66, entered into rest on September 27, 2008, at his home in Wadena, Minnesota with his family at his side. He fought a brave short battle with cancer. Robert was born on June 2, 1942 to Joseph and Marian McIntire. He graduated from Bertha high School in 1960. He married Marlys Ann Lowers in 1962 and they were blessed with two sons, Robert and Wade. Bob began his career with Homecrest in 1962 and worked there until his retirement in 2002. He was well known for his knowledge and expertise in the manufacturing of Homecrest’s high-end patio furniture. Bob was gifted in making friends and these friendships have lasted a lifetime. He served the community on the Wadena City Council, Wadena School Board, Lions Club, Knob Hill Club, Wednesday Library Club and many other community activities. He enjoyed deer hunting, elk hunting, prairie dog hunting at the Dosch Ranch in S.D., fishing, golfing, many walks and hunts with his dog and companion Duke, and fixing things with duct tape and WD-40. Bob was a great husband, wonderful father, and super grandpa. We all have special memories of this man that we loved. He leaves a great void in our hearts. Although we will miss him terribly we are grateful he is at peace. His pride and joy were his grandchildren and he loved sharing stories of them. Bob leaves behind his best friend and wife of 46 years, Marlys; his sons, Robert Jr. (Vickie) of Litchfield, Wade (Darlene) of Green Bay, WI; grandchildren, Corey, Sarah, Travan, Kyla, Kaitlin and Kristin; brothers, Stanley (Juanita) McIntire of Billings, MT, Allen (Mary Lou) McIntire of Cedar; sister, Jeanne McIntire of Chevy Chase, MD; mother and father-in-law, Leonard and Roselle Lowers of Bertha; nieces and nephews, cousins, and numerous other close friends. Preceding Robert were his parents; brother Chuck; sister, Vera; and niece, Angela. He will be dearly missed by the family and many friends. Funeral services were held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, October 2, 2008 in the New Life Church of God in Bertha with Reverend Jason Knoll officiating. Interment was in the Zion Cemetery in Bertha. Pallbearers were Tim Reynolds, Sean McIntire, Corey McIntire, Dennis Olson, Bruce Erdahl, and Jim Gealow.
