Carmen Woodworth

Funeral services for Carmen Navarro LaFarga Woodworth of Clarissa will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, July 23, 2014 at the Shepherd Of The Valley Lutheran Church in Clarissa with Pastor Melissa Ehrhardt presiding. Friends may call at the church on Tuesday from 5:00 until 8:00 PM and again on Wednesday from 9:30 AM until the time of services. Carmen passed away at the age 79 on Thursday, July 17, 2014 at her home in Clarissa under the gentle care of Lakewood Health Hospice of Staples. Carmen was born to Francisco Navarro and Carmen LaFarga on April 9, 1935 and raised at Sueca, Valencia, Spain. After finishing her schooling at a catholic convent, she moved to Barcelona, Spain where she waitressed and met her future husband. She and Larry Dwain Woodworth were united in marriage on July 25, 1961 at Orleans, France. Together they moved to the United States in 1962. In her spare time, Carmen liked to go camping and fishing with her family. She also enjoyed playing bingo, travelling to the casinos, and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a lifetime member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary in Eagle Bend. Carmen was preceded in death by her husband Larry on September 22, 2008; parents Francisco and Carmen; and nieces Pamela Woodworth, Sheila Sudbeck and Taaylor Miller. She is survived by her son Jose Navarro of Spain; daughter Maria (Gregory) Pooler of Eagle Bend; granddaughters Samantha (Joseph) Reineke of Henning and Candice (Joshua Hendershot) Pooler of Evansville; great-grandchildren Addabelle, Xavier, Josilynn, Zayne, Alyvia, Kolton, & Aubrianna Reineke and Tiahna & Zakeya Hendershot. She is also survived by brothers-in-law Phil (Linda) Woodworth of Fort Worth, TX, Denny (Christina) Woodworth of Glenallen, MO and Irving (LaRae) Woodworth, Jr. of Parkers Prairie; and sisters-in-law Carolyn Miller and Linda (Bob) Sudbeck, both of Eagle Bend. Honorary pallbearers are Joseph Reineke, Joshua Hendershot, Gregory Pooler, Timothy Miller and Robert Miller. Pallbearers are Michael Sudbeck, Rian Sudbeck, Ron Miller, Tony Woodworth, Greg Woodworth and Rick Anderson. Interment is in the Hope Lutheran Cemetery in Eagle Bend.
