Charlotte "Char" Schloeder

The memorial service celebrating the life of Charlotte “Char” Schloeder, of Dilworth and formerly of Wadena, will be held at 11:00 am. on Saturday, July 27, at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Wadena, with Pastor Nate Loer presiding. Family and friends may gather at the church on Saturday from 9:30a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be in Wadena Cemetery, Wadena, MN. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Char's service will be livestreamed via the church's YouTube page: www.youtube.com/@ILCWadena ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Char, age 91, passed away on April 27, 2024, at her home, Serenity Assisted Living, in Dilworth, MN, with compassionate care provided by her family and Hospice of the Red River Valley. Charlotte Ann Nyberg was born to Carl Reynard and Hilda Marie (Norum) Nyberg on July 29, 1932, at Wadena, MN. She grew up in Vining, MN, with her parents and three older brothers. Char married Donald Schloeder on October 26, 1952, in Vining and had 6 children. They were married for 46 years before his death. Charlotte became a Registered Nurse and worked for many years at the Wadena Hospital before her retirement. She is survived by her children: Donald (Karen) Schloeder and their children Harold and Lillian; Jan (Mark) Frederick and their daughter Madison; Carol (Barrett) Reski and their children Matthew (Sarah) Reski, and Sara (Chris) Beckermann; Lori (Glenn) Gress and their children Adam (Andrea) Gress, and Tyler (Elisabeth) Gress; Thomas (Cathy) Schloeder and their children, Jenna (Zac) Svir, Tracee (Jason) Guthrie, Janie (Jake) Bigelow, and David (Emily) Smeed; Steve (Joy Knutson) and his daughter Kristina (Alex) Mikaelian; 17 great-grandchildren: Madison Frederick; Vivian, Arden Reski; Charlie, Jack, Virginia Beckermann; Travis, Ethan, and Derek Gress; Milo, and Nora Gress; Alexander, and Everett Svir; Paisley and Ruby Guthrie; Charlotte and Hazel Bigelow; sister-in-law, Melva Jean Nyberg; along with numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Preceding Char in death were her husband, Donald; her parents; brothers, Marven, Arden, and Carlton Nyberg; and many aunts, uncles, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. Honorary urn bearers will be all of Char’s great grandchildren. Memorials in Char’s name may be directed to Hospice of the Red River Valley.
