Dale Current

The funeral service for Dale Current of Bertha, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 22, at the Balsamlund Lutheran Church, near Aldrich, MN. Visitation will be held on Sunday, at the Domian-Anderson Chapel in Bertha from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m., and will resume at the church on Monday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service. Dale, age 84, passed away with family by his side on Wednesday, July 17, 2019, at his home in rural Bertha, MN, with tender care by Lakewood Home Health and Hospice. Dale Edward Current was born to Lee and Violet (Luck) Current on January 3, 1935, in Springfield, MN. His family moved to the Bertha area in 1949, where he stayed until his passing. He graduated from Bertha High School with the Class of 1954. Dale was united in marriage with Joann Olson on June 24, 1956, at Balsamlund Lutheran Church in Aldrich, MN. He loved horses, along with hunting and fishing with his family. He participated in pitching horseshoe, bowling, and was one of the areas best softball pitchers. He was skilled in roller-skating, dancing, snowmobiling, darts, and loved a good hand of cards. Dale was involved with 4-H, Jersey Club, Church Council and was a lifetime member of the Upper Midwest Dairy Industry. Preceding Dale in death were his parents, Lee and Vi; son, Todd; brother, Waldon and sister-in-law, Marilyn Paskewitz. Surviving Dale are his wife Joann; children, Scott (Kathy) Current of Browerville, Kathy (Gary) Kleen of Wahkon, Debra (Jerry) Nelson of Bertha, Timothy (Renee) Current of Verndale, Sharon (Kevin) Thiel of Staples, and Lee (Ashley) Current of Staples; grandchildren, James (Kayla) Current, Dale (Missy) Current, Mike (Amy) Current, Christopher Current, Anna (Master) Hinkle, Meghan (Matt) Current-Cary, Tyler (Ashley) Thiel, Cody (Sarah) Current, Allisa (Austin) Thiel, Amelia Current, and Noah Current; 11 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Maxine Current; brother-in-law, Dean Paskewitz; nieces and nephews, Vicki Westgaard, Bonnie Brook, and Gary Current; along with special friends, Becky Manske, and Janet and Rodney Johnson. Honorary pallbearers will be Anna Hinkle, Meghan Current-Cary, Allisa Thiel, and Amelia Current. Serving as pallbearers will be Tyler Thiel, James, Dale, Mike, Chris, Cody, and Noah Current. Burial will be in Balsamlund Cemetery, rural Aldrich, MN.
