Inez Boehland

Inez Boehland, age 86 of Eagle Bend and formerly of Bertha, passed away on Tuesday, March 6, 2007 at the Tri-County Hospital in Wadena. Funeral services were held on Saturday, March 10, 2007 at 2:00 PM at the St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Bertha. Arrangements were with the Domian-Anderson Funeral Home in Bertha. Inez Norma Boehland, daughter of Julius and Helena (Heies) Krause, was born on August 3, 1920 in Woodside Township, OtterTail County outside of Bertha, MN. She was baptized on August 31, 1920, confirmed on August 28, 1932 and married Ernest Henry Boehland on June 14, 1942 at St. John's Lutheran Church, southwest of Bertha. Her confirmation verse was, "Be thou faithful unto death and I will give thee a crown of Life." Inez graduated from District 255 Otter Tail County, Bertha High School and Bemidji State University. The family lived on a farm west of Bertha until 1990 when they moved into town. Ernest passed away on January 4, 1991. Inez had been a Sunday School teacher and also an active member of the Homemakers Club, Tabitha Ladies Aid, Bible classes, Senior Citizens, Historical Museum Society, Women's Club and the American Legion Auxiliary. She loved to visit, cook and garden. She dearly loved her family. Inez was preceded in death by her husband Ernest on January 4, 1991 and son Lynn on August 27, 2005; parents Julius and Helena; brothers Milton, Willis, Vernon, Elmer and Donovan; sisters Eileen and Jeanette; nephew Richard Krause and niece Julie Krause. She is survived by her children Lowell, MD (Joanna D.P.) of Fullerton, CA, Leon D.V.M. (Carol) of Bertha and Jeannine (Frank Pafko) of Richfield, MN; grandchildren Tanya (Todd) Fiebiger of Fargo, ND, Terrance Boehland of Fergus Falls, MN, Tasha Boehland of Hawaii, Wayne (Amy) Pafko of Marshall, MN, Melanie Pafko of Richfield, Nicholas (Heather) Boehland of Shoreview, MN, and Julianna Boehland of Ramsey, MN; step-children Gail (Kevin) Kyar of Pennock, MN, Jill (Eric) Shaw of Pennock, and Tyler Butler of Bertha; great grandchildren Bryce, Blake, Bria, Charlotte, Benjamin, Katlyn and Ian; and daughter-in-law Joy Boehland of Ramsey. She is also survived by brothers Robert (Adelle) Krause of Minneapolis, Eugene (Betty) Krause of Chelmsford, MA; sister Sylvia (Charles) Burgess of Elk River, MN; and sisters-in-law Allie Krause, Maralee Krause and Evelyn Krause. Honorary pallbearers were Inez' nieces, nephews and grandchildren. Pallbearers were Wayne Pafko, Nicholas Boehland, Terrance Boehland, Tyler Butler, Gary Krause, Larry Westergren, Jeff Krause, Steven Krause, Kevin Krause and John Krause. Interment was in the St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery south west of Bertha. Our special guardian angel is saying, "When tomorrow starts without me, don't think we're far apart. For every time you think of me, I'm right here in your heart."
