Original services were provided by the Roseville Memorial Chapel at Roseville, MN. https://www.ohalloranmurphy.com/obituary/JamesJim-Weber James J. “Jim”, age 83 of Roseville, passed away peacefully January 1st, 2024 Jim Weber was born in 1940 to Art and Lucy Weber, as the 6th of 8 children. He grew up in St Paul and graduated from St. Agnes High School in 1958. He loved to share stories about when he worked for many years in his youth at The Angus Hotel on Selby Ave in the 1950’s. He later established his own business, “Jim Weber Decorating Service”. He spent his life long career as a house painter and wallpaper hanger. He often worked with his brother Tom and together they decorated homes all over the Twin Cities. Jim valued his family and friendships. He loved nothing more than getting together with his siblings, kids, grandkids or friends. He had many friends from his childhood, neighbors, customers of his and of course everyone who became his second family at the St. Clair Broiler. It was through a friend that he met his wife of almost 30 years, Muriel. Together they shared a love of family and friends, and created many happy memories together. He was a family man. His 4 daughters and 6 grandkids will never forget the kindness, warmth, card games and corny jokes he shared with all of us. As a father, he was protective, generous, and supportive. He was tender hearted and made a point to call us on our birthdays and sing us the happy birthday song. As a grandfather, he loved to cuddle and hold his grand babies. He enjoyed watching them grow up and attending their many activities. He could always be counted on to show up. While Alzheimer’s changed many things for him, it didn’t change his kind heart, love for his family and the gift of gab! He liked to strike up a conversation with staff or other residents in memory care and offer “help” wherever needed. He continued to joke around and laugh at his own jokes! As the disease advanced, he continued to enjoy outings like going out for dinner or car rides (especially if it was to get ice cream), or quiet time spent just sitting together. He will be greatly missed by all of us. He was a wonderful father, Papa, husband, brother, uncle and friend. While we feel sadness at our tremendous loss, there’s also peace and comfort knowing he is surrounded by his heavenly family and friends, and is no longer suffering. His examples of generosity, support, love and humor will remain in our hearts forever. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Art and Lucy; and siblings, Art, Dick, Marlene, and Don. He is survived by his loving wife, Muriel; daughters, Denise, Mary Ellen, Nancy, and Sara; their mother, Judy; siblings, Bob, Tom (Phyllis), and John (Joanie); grandchildren, Quinton, Kayla (Kelly), Josh, Camryn, Mason, and Makenna; brother-in-law, Jerr Derby; and other loving family and friends. A celebration of Jim’s life was held at 11:30 AM Saturday January 27th, 2024, with a gathering of family and friends 10:00 – 11:30 AM, all at Roseville Memorial Chapel, 2245 N. Hamline Ave, Roseville MN. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to the MN Alzheimer’s Association.
