The Mass of Christian Burial for Jerome “Jerry” Wagner of Parkers Prairie will be celebrated at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 24 at the St. William’s Catholic Church in Parkers Prairie with Father Peter VanderWeyst as celebrant. Visitation will be held on Friday from 4:00 until 7:00 PM at the Domian-Anderson Chapel in Bertha with Prayers at 5:00 and Rosary at 6:00 p.m. Visitation will resume at St. William's Catholic Church in Parkers Prairie on Saturday one hour prior to the Mass. Fellowship and food will be provided at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Bertha after graveside services. After sustaining injuries from a farm accident, Jerry, age 74, passed away with his family at his side, on Monday, September 19, 2016, at the St. Cloud Hospital. Jerry was born to Morton and Louise (Blashack) Wagner on February 12, 1942 at the Thiel Hospital in Bertha, MN. He completed high school and later married Judith “Judy” Marie Carlson on October 22, 1966, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Bertha. Jerry loved being with his family, riding horse, snowmobiling and 4-wheeling with his grandchildren. He loved playing cards, especially Cribbage. Jerry looked forward to deer hunting, fishing and being at “the shack” with family and friends. He found joy in driving school bus, especially for his grandkids’ sporting events. Everyone will remember Jerry for being more than willing to give “free advice”! Jerry was a member of Ringnecks Forevermore, the Bertha-Hewitt Sports Boosters and St. Joseph’s Cemetery Board. He served as the Maple Lake Hunting Club secretary, as Woodside Township Treasurer, and on the Bertha-Hewitt School Board. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents Morton and Louise; brother William Oscar Wagner; and granddaughter Brooke. Jerry will be missed by his devoted wife Judy of Parkers Prairie; son William (Karin) Wagner of Bertha; daughters Roberta (Joel) Zluticky of Truckee, CA, Joy (Brad) Kimber of Hewitt and Mary (Dallas) Dean of Bertha; 14 grandchildren; brother Ken (Diane) Wagner of Mankato; sisters Kathy (Ronnie) Bastian of Bertha, Mary (John) Dorn of Browerville, Theresia (Delmer) Leyh of Nevis and Janie (Bernie) Koep of Osseo; along with a host of friends and neighbors. Honorary pallbearers will be Jerry’s grandchildren, Robert Bastian, Mike Dorn, and Willie Bastian. Serving as pallbearers will be Scott Iblings, Hunter McQuiston, Tyler Butler, Chad Dorn, Pat Dorn, Derik Kimber, Ross Dorn and Mark Dorn. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery, Bertha, MN, with Father Matthew Crane presiding.
