Kim Ahrens

The funeral service for Kim Aherns of Eagle Bend will be held at 11:00am. on Monday, August 5, at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Eagle Bend. Visitation will be held on Sunday, from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the Domian-Anderson Chapel in Bertha and will resume at the church in Eagle Bend on Monday from 9:30a.m. until the time of the service. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The service can be viewed on: Schuller Family Funeral Home's Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/p/Schuller-Family-Funeral-Homes-Cremation-Services or on YouTube ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ With family at her side, Kim passed away at the age of 62 after a short battle with cancer on July 28, 2024, at her home in Eagle Bend, MN. Gentle care was provided by CentraCare Hospice. Kimmie Marie Truax was born to Wesley and Leona (Wirth) Truax on May 17, 1962, at Wesley Hospital in Wadena, MN. She attended Bertha Hewitt Public School where she participated in cheerleading, choir, band and drama. After graduating in 1980 she continued her education at Wadena Area Technical Institute for a degree in Accounting. On April 3, 1982, Kim married the love of her life, Michael Ahrens, and were blessed with three wonderful children, Katrina, Bethany and Henry. They owned and operated a dairy farm outside of Eagle Bend. After years of farming, Kim accepted a position at Rose City Canopy where she enjoyed the flexibility to work in different aspects of the business. Away from work Kim appreciated being outdoors, especially deer hunting and fishing. She had a soft spot in her heart for the baby animals on the farm and every animal had a name! Faith was an important part of Kim’s life having served as a Sunday school teacher and superintendent, singing in the choir and participating with the ladies aid. A special joy was attending her children’s and grandchildren’s events as she treasured her family most of all. Preceding Kim in death were her son, Henry Ahrens; father, Wes; brother Brian Truax; and her grandparents. Surviving Kim are her husband, Mike; daughters, Katrina (Bernard) Kolles of Holdingford and Bethany (David) Schultz of Bertha; grandchildren: Blake, Brice and Kaylynne Kolles, and Noah, Owen, and Leah Schultz; mother, Leona Truax of Hewitt; sister, Susan (Michael) Hochstetler of White Bear Lake; sister-in-law, Amy Truax of Bemidji; parents-in-laws, Henry and Ardith Ahrens of Eagle Bend, sister-in-law Melanie (Jon) Miller of Waconia; and a host of extended family and friends. Honorary pallbearers will be Kaylynne Kolles, Owen Schultz, and Leah Schultz. Serving as pallbearers will be Blake Kolles, Brice Kolles, Noah Schultz, Rusty Kincade, Mark Kern, Jeremy Discher, Josh Discher and Kevin Wirth. Burial will be in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery in Wykeham Township, Todd County, MN.
