Mary Klemek

Memorial services for Mary Lou Klemek of Clarissa will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, May 22, 2015 at the United Methodist Church in Hewitt with Pastor Ken Uhren presiding. Friends may call at the Schuller Family Funeral Home’s Domian-Anderson Chapel in Bertha on Thursday from 5:00 until 7:00 PM and at the church on Friday from 9:30 AM until the time of services. Mary passed away at the age of 73 on Sunday, May 17, 2015 at the Fair Oaks Lodge in Wadena, with her family at her side. Mary was born on August 4, 1941, at the Bertha Hospital in Bertha, MN, to Chet and Ruthie (Persons) Hennagir. She was raised on a farm near the Woodside Store, rural Parkers Prairie, MN. After graduating from Bertha-Hewitt High School, she lived and worked in Staples for the Singer sewing factory, then moved to Medina with her husband. She was united in marriage with Max G. Klemek, Jr. on March 5, 1966 at St. Edward’s Catholic Church in Henning, MN. Together they worked in Medina until moving to the farm in Bertha in 1971. She and Max retired from farming in 2003 and moved to their home in Clarissa. Mary was an active member of the United Methodist Church in Bertha until it’s closing. She loved sewing, embroidery, crafting, and shopping. She had the ability to look at any new craft or design, pick it apart, and re-create it. Mary loved collecting dolls, everything from Barbie dolls, Precious Moments dolls, different types of porcelain dolls - such as brides, Native American, and antique looking dolls. She was a great cook and baker, and she loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Chet and Ruthie Hennagir; sisters Lila Blashack and Marge Klemek; and brothers Charlie, Bill and Marvin Hennagir. She is survived by her husband of over 49 years, Max Klemek, Jr.; sons Larry (Marilyn) of Bertha and Barry (Robin) of Hewitt, MN; daughter Karen (Paul) Walgren of St. Joseph, MN; 6 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren; brothers Herb (Darlene) Hennagir of Bluegrass, MN and Jerry Hennagir of Battle Lake, MN; and sister Bev (LeRoy) Messer of Bertha. Honorary pallbearers are her grandchildren Matthew Klemek, Megan Dolezal, Michael Klemek, Brandon Klemek, Christopher Klemek and Jacob Walgren. Interment of ashes will be at the St. Edwards Catholic Cemetery in Henning at a later date.
