With her family by her side, Alice, age 88, passed away on Monday, February 25, 2019, at the Fair Oaks Lodge, Wadena, MN. Alice Ruth Branstner was born to August and Julia (Chase) Branstner on Christmas Eve, 1930, in Hewitt, MN. Alice was raised in a large farm family. Alice was united in marriage with Herman Trosen on November 9, 1950, in Wadena, MN. Herman and Alice both attended Holy Methodist School of Theology. They lived in Ardoch, ND where Herman worked as a potato farmer for several years before moving to Whitefish, MT. Alice was a CNA and than Supervisor at the Hewitt Nursing Home. Alice loved to bake her famous melt in your mouth sugar cookies, had the best homemade buns and made the sweetest ice tea. She loved spending time with her grandkids, enjoying tea parties and making ice cream out of snow. We would often find her in her beautiful garden or reading a novel any spare moment she might have. She loved making time for her grandkids and teaching them her Rook strategies, how to wrap presents, writing skills or secret cookie recipes. Alice had the kindest heart, a gentle spirit and was the most-tender caregiver you would ever meet. Her love for the Lord radiated throughout her life. Alice helped carry a godly legacy forward with Herman. While she was small in stature, the shadow she has cast with her legacy is massive and will be felt for generations.
