David Eggert Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

The funeral service for David Eggert of Bertha will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, June 14, at the New Life Church of God in Bertha with Pastor Jason Knoll presiding. A graveside committal and prayer will be held at 3:30 on Tuesday at Terrace Lawn Memory Gardens, Montevideo, MN, with Pastor Matt Danielson from Our Savior's Lutheran of Baxter Church. Visitation will be held at the Domian-Anderson Chapel in Bertha on Monday from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. and will resume at the church on Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Days before his 75th birthday, David passed away on June 6, 2022, at his home in Bertha, MN. Comfort and compassion was provided by Knute Nelson Hospice. David was born to Fred and Renetta (Naab) Eggert on June 27, 1947 in Bertha, MN. After finishing eighth grade his passion for farming took over. His days were filled with the many tasks of being a crop and dairy farmer. After getting out of dairy farming he also drove milk truck for several years while raising crops and beef cattle before retiring to live out his life as a crop and beef cattle farmer. He loved it, almost as much as being a grandpa!. He will be remembered as a quiet hardworking family man. Preceding David in death were his parents, Fred and Renetta; granddaughter, Abigail Eggert; and brother, Robert Eggert. Dave is survived by his children: Lori (Justin Grewe) McKnight, Chris (Jennifer) Eggert both of Bertha, Ken (Missy) Eggert of Parkers Prairie and Darrin (Nicki) Eggert of Bertha; 22 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren; along with siblings: Inez Bjerkeset of Dawson, Valerie Eggert of Kansas City, KS, and Ernie (Judi) Eggert of Boyd. Honorary pallbearers will be his grandkids and great grandkids. Serving as pallbearers will be Thomas Eggert, Jake McKnight, Tyler Eggert, Devin Eggert, Eli Eggert, Lance Bjerkeset and Loren Bjerkeset.
