Glenn Greenwaldt

May 10, 1924 - March 8, 2022

The funeral service for Glenn Greenwaldt of Deer Creek will be held at 10:30 am. on Friday, March 11, at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Deer Creek, MN, with Pastor Don Wagner presiding. Visitation will be held at the church on Friday from 9:00 until the time of the service. Glenn, age 97, passed away on March 8, 2022, at the Fair Oaks Lodge in Wadena, MN, with care provided by the staff and Heartland Hospice. Glenn was born in the home of his parents, Harry and Ella (Schaefer) Greenwaldt on May 10, 1924, near Bertha, MN. He was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Hewitt. Glenn was united in marriage with Irene Isaacson on November 30, 1945. They farmed in the Hewitt community until 1979. Glenn served at his church in Hewitt as an elder, Sunday School teacher, and sang in the choir. Glenn and Irene moved to rural Deer Creek upon retirement in 1980. Glenn loved to play his accordion and guitar until complications from arthritis set in. His hobbies included Pinochle and Solitaire card games, raising strawberries and watermelon. Preceding Glenn in death were his wife, Irene (2014); son Thomas (1978); parents, Harry and Ella; and siblings, Harold, Ervin, Scotty and Dennis; brothers-in-law, Joe Buhl, Lyle Denny and Alden Isaacson; sisters-in-law, Joyce, Marge, Arlene, Helen and Betty Greenwaldt, and June Isaacson. Glenn is survived by his children, Darleen (Dennis) Wendt and Alyn (Joan) Greenwaldt, both of Deer Creek; grandchildren, Jane (Dan) Kovar, Joe (Heidi) Wendt, David (Kim) Wendt, Kevin (Sherry) Wendt, Bryan (Amy) Greenwaldt, Laurie (Jason) Anderson and Karrie Johnson; 21 great-grandchildren, and 13 great-great-grandchildren; siblings, Eugene (Claudette), Ted, Larry (Donna) Greenwaldt, Betty Buhl and Verda (Wayne) Dreger. Serving as pallbearers will be Joseph Wendt, David Wendt, Kevin Wendt, Bryan Greenwaldt, Jason Anderson and Dan Kovar. Burial will be in Inman Cemetery, in Henning, MN.
