Laurie (Nesset) Kelly Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Family and friends will be celebrating the life of Laurie Kelley, of North Chelmsford MA, on Monday, Sept. 20, 2021 from 1:00-3:00 p.m. at Schuller Family Funeral Home’s Johnson-Schuller Chapel in Wadena, with a time of remembrance at 2:00 p.m. and Memorial service at 3:00 p.m. led by Pastor Stephen Meltzer. Laurie Lynn (Nesset) Kelly, 58, a resident of North Chelmsford, Massachusetts passed away gracefully at her home on Friday, July 30, 2021 surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of Robert Kelly with whom she enjoyed 19 years of marriage. She was born in Wadena, Minnesota on January 6, 1963 and was the daughter of the late Ole Nesset and Phyllis (McIntire) Nesset. She was educated in Hopkins, Minnesota, graduating with the class of 1981. Laurie possessed a tremendous work ethic, and at 16 she took a job as a bank teller while still in high school. She then went to work for Tonka Toys, which started her on a ten-year career path in sales and marketing before starting a new career in mortgage lending. Her excellent work eventually earned her the position of Senior Loan Officer and Partner with Mortgage Equity Partners in Lynnfield, MA. Laurie loved life; she was happiest when she was selflessly taking care of others’ needs, whether it be hosting dinners, Doris Day birthday parties, or showing her Minnesota friends and relatives around town. She was an excellent cook and mixologist, and she loved entertaining at home. She and Robert also enjoyed traveling throughout New England, attending concerts, horse races at Saratoga and Belmont, trips to New York City, and getaways to Block Island, often with family and friends. She will be remembered for her bright smile, her loyal friendship, and her love of animals. In addition to her husband and mother, Laurie is survived by aunts, Peggy Janzen, Linda Senechal, Debra (Steve King) McIntire, Uncle Dennis (Peggy) McIntire, Robert’s sister, Jane (Jack) Fletcher, brother, John (Doreen) Kelly as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews and countless friends. She is preceded in death by her father, her grandparents Howard and Helen McIntire and Maurice and Nita Nesset, her father and mother in-law John and Dorothy Kelly, and her aunt Audrey and uncle Earl Wiederich and very special uncle Jim Janzen. Inurnment in cemetery in Wadena, Minnesota. Memorials in Laurie’s name should be directed to the Wadena County Humane Society or Wadena Cemetery.
