A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Norman and Rosemarie Brejcha at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, January 4, 2020 at St. Frederick's Catholic Church in Verndale with Father Lauren Germann as celebrant. Family and friends may gather with the family one hour prior to the Mass. Norman, age 88, passed away on Saturday, December 21, 2019, at the Oak Crossing Essentia Health Care Center in Detroit Lakes, MN. Norman was born on December 19, 1931 to Henry and Rose (Burda) Brejcha in Western, Nebraska. He grew up in Wilber, NE and joined the Army. He participated in the Vietnam War and was in Korea, Japan and Germany through-out his enlistment. After he retired from the Army, he moved to Verndale. He operated TBK Machine Shop until his official retirement. He was active in Knights of Columbus, American Legion, and Disabled American Veterans. He was also a former Boy Scout Assistant Leader. Norman was preceded in death by his wife Rosie on December 19, 2019; parents Henry and Rose; sons Timothy and infant Robert Lee; and brother Elmer Brejcha. Surviving Norman are his sons Brad (April) of Alexandria and Kenneth (Jean) of Crookston; 6 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren; and sister-in-law Anne Moench. Honorary urnbearers will be his grandchildren. A burial will be in St. Frederick’s Catholic Cemetery, Verndale, MN. Memorials may be directed to the family or the Make-A-Wish Foundation (wish.org).
