Private services for Richard W. Uselman, age 76, of Hewitt, were held on Thursday, January 21 at the New Life Church of God in Bertha, MN, with Pastor Jason Knoll presiding. Richard passed away surrounded by his loving family on January 19, 2021, at the Lakewood Health System in Staples, MN. Rich was born on June 20, 1944 to Raymond Sr. and Elizabeth (Violett) Uselman in Wadena, MN. He attended the Leaf River Country School and Wadena High School. Rich drove truck for Northern Cooperative, Cenex, and Mark Sand & Gravel, retiring in 2007. In retirement, he enjoyed doing seasonal work for Leaf River Ag. Rich loved spending time with his grandkids. He would make trips all over the state to make an appearance at every sporting event they were involved in. He enjoyed the outdoors; hunting, fishing and camping with family whenever he had the chance. A special trait that Rich will be remembered for possessing was being completely selfless. He was always there when his family needed him. Preceding Rich in death were is parents, Raymond Sr. and Elizabeth and infant sister, Marjorie Ann. Holding Rich’s memory close in their hearts is his loving wife of 57 years, Shirley of Hewitt; sons, Kevin (Lorna) of Brainerd and Erik (Brenda) of Pillager; grandchildren, Haley, Madison (Nick) Ruhl, Skyler, Christopher, Conner and Carson; siblings, Raymond Jr. (Glenda) and Tom (Cindy) Uselman, along with a host of family, friends and neighbors. Burial was in Zion Cemetery in Bertha, MN.
