The Memorial Mass of Christian Burial for Angela "Angie" Grewe, a resident at the Mother of Mercy Care Center of Albany and formerly of Bertha, will be celebrated at 2:00 PM on Friday, September 29, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Bertha with Fr. Aaron Kuhn as celebrant. Angela “Angie” was born to Victor and Evangeline (Gahlon) Klimek on August 11, 1954, at Parkers Prairie, MN. Angela married Steven Wayne Grewe on February 27, 1973, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Clarissa, MN. They made their home in the Bertha area where they operated their dairy farm. Angie was always busy running after the kids and taking care of the cows. She loved her cows! She welcomed everyone into their home and treated them like one of her own. Angie was a wonderful cook and made sure everyone who was at the house left with a full belly. One of Chad’s favorite meals is still her recipe for crescent squares. Angie had a love for dark chocolate, ask the boys about their late night runs for her! She was even receiving monthly orders of Milky Way Dark candy bars. Later in life, she was an avid reader, bird watcher, NASCAR fan and collector of angels. Her favorite hours were ones spent with her family and grandkids. A lot of hardships came Angie’s way in life, but she faced them with poise and fierceness. We also admire the unwavering love between Steve and Angie through their 50 years of marriage. Their love is an example for us all. Angie was a remarkable woman who will be remembered not only for her kindness but also for her unwavering faith. With a spitfire spirit that ignited the lives of all those fortunate enough to know her, leaving a memorable mark of determination, resilience, and unyielding positivity. And yes, mom, we will make sure dad doesn’t run out of his cherry ice cream. Preceding Angie in death were her parents, Victor and Evangeline; children, Eric Grewe and Laura Grewe; grandson, Tyler; siblings, infant Therese Klimek, Victor Klimek Jr, and Ruth Berg; and in-laws, Ervin and Della Grewe Remembering Angie will be her husband, Steve of Albany; sons, Chad (Molly) Grewe of Albany and Justin (Lori) Grewe and kids of Bertha; grandchildren, Jordan Grewe, Lily (Max) Snyder and Alex Grewe; great-grandchildren, Kristen Grewe, Braxton Grewe and Vivienne Snyder; siblings: Mike (Linda) Klimek, Dave (Paula) Klimek, Thomas (Gwen) Klimek, Linda (John Nelson) Kerkeide, Maxine (Eric Larson) Bous and Anita Briggs; longtime friends, Gary and Cindy Richter; along with many cousins, nieces, nephews and dear friends. The family would also like to give thanks to all the wonderful healthcare workers that have given Angie tender care, compassion, and friendship over the last 24 years. Serving as urn bearers will be Chad Grewe, Justin Grewe and Ben Rudrud. Honorary urn bearers will be Jordan Grewe, Lily Snyder and Alex Grewe. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery, Bertha, MN.
