David Rausch

Funeral services for David John Rausch of rural Eagle Bend were held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, September 29, 2011 at the First Baptist Church in Parkers Prairie with Pastor Robert Deugan presiding. David passed away unexpectedly on Monday, September 26, 2011 at the Tri County Hospital in Wadena at the age of 47 years. David was born on November 9, 1963 to John and Erna (Haase) Rausch in the Browerville Hospital. He graduated from Bertha-Hewitt High School in 1982. He was united in marriage with Michele Benson at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Bertha on September 21, 1985. Together they lived in Wadena for a year before purchasing and moving to the Rausch family farm in 1986. David worked at Homecrest Industries for 23 years and then returned to school for diesel mechanics at Central Lakes College in Staples. He worked at Standard Iron for two years and was currently employed at 3M in Alexandria as a Intermediate Processing Operator. He continued to operate his dairy farm in Bertha Township. He also enjoyed biking, bowling and tubing. He was a wonderful husband and father and will be dearly missed. David was preceded in death by his father John and brother-in-law Michael Benson. He is survived by his loving wife, Michele; sons Warren, Jeffrey and Caleb, all of Eagle Bend; mother Erna of Bertha; brother James (Rita) of Spokane, WA and sister Donna (Tim) Andreason of Boonsville, AR; nieces and nephews Erik, Richelle, Jonathon, Christine, Kaylin, James and Michael; and aunts and uncles Dorothy Johnson, Norm & Vi Rausch, Robert & Bev Rausch, Ervin Bergman, June Goff, Dennis & Judy Kimber, Delbert & Caroline Haase, Mary Jane Haase and Jim & Mary Ann Studanski. He is also survived by Michele’s family: parents Maynard and Marjorie Benson of Oylen; brother Mark Benson of Oylen; sisters Mardell (Larry) Benson of Staples, Marsha (George) Skon of Brookings, SD and Merissa (Scott) Aldrich of Cloquet; nieces and nephews Sterling, Laura, Magdalena, James, Vernon, Calvin and Adeline; as well as many wonderful friends, neighbors and co-workers. Pallbearers were Patrick Lindell, Linn Smith, Jason Johnson, Mike Bruemmer, Nathan Corder, Tim Radueg, Ed Fosness and Roger Boehland. Interment was in the Woodside Cemetery west of Wrightstown.
