Judith "Judy" Decker

The funeral service celebrating the life of Judith Decker of Clarissa and formerly of Bertha, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 15, at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Eagle Bend. Visitation will be held at the church on Wednesday, from 11:30 a.m. until the time of the service. Judith “Judy” was born to Vernon and Hazel (Braun) Daniels on July 25, 1942, in Seattle, WA. The family moved to Bertha, MN, where she attended school and graduated in 1960. On April 20, 1963, Judy married Richard Arthur Decker at Peace Evangelical Reformed Church in Bertha. For seven years they made their home in Minneapolis before moving to the Decker family farm near Bertha. Their children, Mary, David and Mark were the next generation on the farm. In her spare time, Judy enjoyed traveling, reading, and watching football and basketball on TV. She participated in Bible study and church activities. Most of all she liked to go shopping and spend time with family and friends. She will be remembered for handwriting holiday cards and letters, along with having a huge heart for everyone. Preceding Judy in death were her husband, Richard (1997); parents, Vernon and Hazel; parents-in-law, Herman and Evelyn (Ellig) Decker; brothers and sisters-in-law, Joyce Hieserich, Wallace (Rita) Decker and Gordon Decker. Remembering Judy will be her children, Mary Decker of Brainerd, David Decker of Eagle Bend, and Mark (Sandy) Decker of Fergus Falls; three grandchildren; sister, Linda (Ron) Ward of Bertha, sisters-in-law, Carol Decker and Ardy (Gary) Christenson; along with a host of extended family, friends and neighbors. Honorary pallbearers will be Brian Denke, Jeremiah Denke, and the ladies of the Bible study group. Pallbearers will be John Decker, Alex Decker, Todd Decker, Scott Ward, Brad Ward, Greg Ward, Keith Christenson, Kyle Christenson and Cory Christenson.
