The funeral service celebrating the life of Lorraine Sellnow of Bertha, and formerly of Verndale, will be held at 11:00a.m. on Thursday, November 9, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Bertha with Pastor Blake Rickbeil presiding. Lorraine Sellnow Funeral Service via an internet search of Schuller-Family Funeral Homes &Cremation Services ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Lorraine, age 92, passed away on November 6, 2023, at the Central Todd County Care Center in Clarissa, MN, with compassionate care by the staff and CentraCare Hospice. Vernie “Lorraine” Worden was born the fourth of eight children to Idell “Dell” and Vernie (Gessner) Worden on April 18, 1931, at the family farm in Otter Tail County, MN. After a short time, the family moved north of Aldrich before buying a farm in 1941 east of Hewitt in Bartlett Township on highway 210. Lorraine attended District 112 Country School in Bartlett Township through the eighth grade and went on to graduate in 1948 at the Verndale Public School. On November 22, 1949, Lorraine married Lloyd J. Sellnow at the Bartlett Immanuel Lutheran Church. They bought a farm southeast of Verndale in 1950 where they ran a dairy operation and later raised and processed Barzona beef cattle. They resided on their farm all their married life. Lorraine’s days were filled with the tasks of raising their seven children and helping on the farm. She was active in her church, raised a huge garden every year, loved animals and enjoyed many Canadian fishing trips in their retirement years. After Lloyd’s passing in November 2002, Lorraine stayed on the farm until she moved into the Horizon Manor in Bertha in 2005. She entered Central Todd County Care Center in Clarissa in March 2013. Preceding Lorraine in death were her husband, Lloyd; parents Dell and Vernie; siblings June Bjone, Betty Theissen, Dallas Worden, Dale Worden, Daryl “Tiny” Worden, Don Worden, Duaine Worden; grandsons, Garrick Isakson and Vincent Sellnow; great-grandson, Edmund Sellnow; daughter-in-law Beverly Sellnow; sister-in-law, Lois Rustad and her husband John; and parents-in-law, Herbert and Ella Sellnow. Surviving Lorraine are her children: Diane (Zeke) Isakson of Powers Lake, ND, Steven (Connie Henry) Sellnow of Sartell, Michael (Rhonda) Sellnow of Pine Island, Thomas (Kathy) Sellnow of Long Prairie and Richard (Doreen) Sellnow of Brainerd, Rita Boehland of Verndale and Nancy (Brad) Braaten of Bertha; along with 17 grandchildren & 40 great-grandchildren, & 1 expected great-great-grandchild. Serving as pallbearers will be Brian, Martin, and Jake Braaten, Nathan, Jonathan, David, Jason, and Kyle Sellnow. Burial will be in Green Lawn Cemetery in Verndale, MN.
