Marilyn Voge

The funeral service for Marilyn Voge of Bertha, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 3, at the New Life Church of God in Bertha, with Pastors Jason Knoll and Sarah Collins presiding. Visitation will be held at the church on Monday, September 2, from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. and at the church on Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service. With family at her side, Marilyn passed away at her home in Bertha, MN, on August 28, 2019, at the age of 80, with Knute Nelson Hospice providing compassionate care. Marilyn was born in Bertha to Harold and Eleanora (Miller) Esteb on January 30, 1939. She grew up in the area, and graduated from Bertha-Hewitt High School in 1957. Marilyn was married to Wayne Voge on June 13, 1959 at the Church of God, Bertha, and celebrated 60 years of marriage on June 13, 2019. Marilyn and Wayne owned a farm west of Bertha. Marilyn was Wayne’s partner on the farm but as their children grew older, she branched out and worked at Krause Drug in Wadena, and later at Schultz Drug (now Seip Drug) in Bertha and Clarissa. Marilyn enjoyed people and was a customer favorite wherever she worked. She finally retired at age 80 in May 2019 due to health. Marilyn was very active in the New Life Church of God where she and Wayne raised their children. She served in various capacities and on numerous committees for 60 years. People will remember her unwavering faith in God in good times and bad. Her children and grandchildren will remember her for her love of cats and the color pink, her dislike of snakes, her diminutive height, her cheesy potatoes, and chicken wild rice soup. More importantly, they will remember her as a compassionate and strong woman who loved them unconditionally. Marilyn is survived by her husband, Wayne, of Bertha; children, Craig, of Bertha, Dianne (John) Koch, of St. Cloud, Kirk (Kim Voge) of Bertha, and Brad (Teri) of Cloquet; grandchildren, Rachel Koch Bach (Christopher), Adam (Alexa) Rae Voge, Logan (Cathy) Voge; Skylar Voge (Bailey Fuchs); Collin Voge (Emma Moore) and Karly Voge (David Rasmussen); step-grandchildren, Robert (Debra) Koch, Christy (Piseth) Keo, Jackie (Jeff) Bautch, Gen (Jay) Loso, Michael (Amy) Waldvogel, and Kole Voge; great-grandchildren, Robert Voge, William Voge, Crosby Rae Voge and Eleanor Rae Voge; and step-great-grandchildren Ezra Koch, Caitlyn, Cody, Zach and Matthew Keo, Ruby, Violet and Xavier Bautch, Sylvie and Sydney Loso, Garrett, Bailey and, Joslyn Waldvogel; great-great-granddaughter, Rowan Keo; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Janice and Dale Terrill, and nephew, Thomas Terrill; and nieces, Maureen Esteb and Mary Prescott. Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Eleanora Esteb, and brother, Marlyn Esteb. Pallbearers are Rachel Koch Bach, Adam Rae Voge, Logan Voge, Skylar Voge, Collin Voge and Karly Voge, Michael Waldvogel and Kole Voge. Honorary pallbearers are Marilyn’s Monday morning Bible Study Group. Burial will be in Zion Cemetery, Bertha, MN.
