Mark Langer

The memorial Mass for Mark Langer of Wadena will be celebrated at Noon on Thursday, August 27, at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Wadena, with Fr. Jean-Claude Duncan as celebrant and Deacon Brian Herding assisting. Visitation will be held at the church on Thursday, from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the Mass. Mark was born to Roger and Cecilia Drake on November 6th, 1962, in Milwaukee, WI. Tragically, when Mark was 2 years old, a car accident took the lives of his parents and his sister Beatrice, leaving Mark the only survivor of the accident. His uncle and aunt, Rich and Mary (Hoffarth) Langer, adopted and loved Mark and his younger brother, Paul, as their own sons. Mark attended Wadena Public Schools and graduated with the Class of 1981. He later moved to Minneapolis, MN, and worked at Norwest Bank. Eventually, Mark moved back to Wadena to work in carpentry with his dad. He continued his career at Mason Brothers in Wadena for 25 years, and then finished at Lund Boats in New York Mills, MN, before retiring. Away from work, Mark frequently checked out local lakes to catch fish, hunted many deer with his son Tyler in New York Mills, and grew huge tomatoes to make his favorite salsa every year. Mark was also an avid Minnesota sports fan, often watching the Vikings, Twins, and Lynx. On September 4th, 1993, Mark was united in marriage with Stacy Trupukka at St. Ann’s Catholic Church. They had their first son, Tyler, in 1992, and in 1998, their second child, Rylie. Mark loved and cared for his two children more than words could describe. Mark truly had a heart of gold. He would do anything for anyone. Preceding Mark in death were his birth parents, Roger and Cecelia; sister, Beatrice Drake; and dad, Richard Langer. Forever remembering Mark will be his children, Tyler Langer and Rylie (Brandon Hoff) Langer; mother, Mary Langer; siblings: Debra (Brad) Ellingworth, Paul Langer, Lori (Kameron) Koch, and Diane (Brian) Herding; the mother of his children, Stacy Trupukka; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends. Honorary urn bearers will be all who called Mark a friend. Urn bearers will be Tyler and Rylie Langer.
