Ronald A. Snyder

The funeral service for Ronald Snyder of Eagle Bend will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 23, 2013, at the Assemblies of God Church in Eagle Bend with Pastor Bob Bernard presiding. Ron went to be with the Lord, at the age of 55, on Thursday, July 18, 2013, at the Centra-Care Hospital in Long Prairie, MN. Ron was born on June 5, 1958 in Paynesville, MN to Herbert & Lois (Frank) Snyder. He spent his boyhood in Paynesville and then the family moved to Eagle Bend in 1972. Ron attended Eagle Bend High School. He was engaged in farming, and liked to do handyman projects such as helping cut down trees, landscaping, and repair & painting of homes for older members of the community. For several years he delivered meals to seniors through the Todd County Meals on Wheels program and he enjoyed talking to the people on his route. He liked to go camping in the Battle Lake area of Minnesota and he was an avid outdoorsman. Ron enjoyed animals and especially his dog, Duffy. Watching the Minnesota Vikings play was his favorite sport and he often watched the games with his son, Cody. He kept in close contact with his daughter, Cassandra, who teaches in South Korea and he admired her courage. His daughter, Candice, works and lives in Mankato as does his son, Cody. Ron often spent time at the Salem Community Church in Zion Township since the church overlooked the family farm at Paynesville. His prized passion was his 1976 Monte Carlo car and he kept it in perfect shape. He was baptized at the Green Lake Bible Camp by New London-Spicer as a youth attending summer camp. Ron was very religious and spent part of every day reading the Bible and talking to God in prayer, and now he can talk to God directly! Ron was preceded in death by his father Herbert in May of 2011. He is survived by his children, Candice, Cassandra, and Cody; his mother, Lois Snyder of Eagle Bend, his sisters, Cindy Drevlow of Long Prairie and Susan (David) Lorenz of St. Cloud; and numerous family and friends. Serving as pallbearers will be Dan Snyder, Don Frank, Marty Frank, Jason Berg, Terry Zimmer Chuck Godding and Ralph Warzecha. Burial will be in Salem Cemetery located in Zion Township, rural Paynesville.
